Common questions
How many guests can stay?
Hakuna Matata sleeps up to 6 guests across three bedrooms — one twin room and two double rooms.
Is the pool heated?
The pool is an outdoor plunge pool open all year. Marloth Park has warm summers; the pool may be cooler in winter months (June–August).
Is it safe to walk in Marloth Park?
Yes — walking during daylight hours is safe and part of the experience. However, there is a local curfew from 18:00 to 06:00: it is strongly recommended you stay indoors during these hours and do not walk outside at night. Wild animals roam freely, so never handfeed any wildlife and keep a safe distance at all times.
Do I need a car?
Yes — a car is essential. Marloth Park is rural and there is no public transport. You will also need a car to drive into Kruger National Park. A standard sedan is fine for Marloth Park roads.
Are there restaurants nearby?
Yes — several restaurants are within a short drive. Jabula is a local favourite; Amazing River View Bar and Restaurant has great views; and Phai Tong Thai Restaurant is a popular option. All are within easy reach of the property.
Is there a washing machine?
There is no washing machine on site. A laundry service with a 24-hour turnaround is available at the bush centre in Marloth Park.
Is there support on the ground?
Yes — there is a local manager based within Marloth Park who can assist during your stay. The pool is cleaned once a week. For stays of more than 7 nights, a complimentary clean and fresh linen change is included, arranged at a time that suits you.
